Restored section of Wendover Arm back in water

THE restored section of the Wendover Arm was re-watered in December.

Starting at the end of November the 480 yards took three weeks to fill and is a further step in the full restoration of the waterway, off the Grand Union Canal at Bulbourne.

Volunteers

The restoration was undertaken by volunteers once the drawings had been completed together with detailed drawings for the repairs to the foundations of the swing bridge, including sheet piling bank protection.

Work on the section by the Waterway Recovery Group volunteers has been in progress from time to time over the past six years and took advantage of the lockdown period.

A Family Canal Camp with Wendover Canal Trust is being arranged to take place this year.
