The poor 'Narrow' closed again

YET again the Huddersfield Narrow Canal is closed.

It was only last week it was re-opened after being closed but now it is closed again Keith Gudgin reports.

Defunct seal strip

This time it is 'an issue' with a defunct seal strip on the head gate of Lock 27W causing a leak that together with the usual broken gate paddle is preventing the lock from retaining water.

And once again the local team have been to site and established a method of repair, with it obviously established, as work starts today, Thursday.
