Unnecessary towpath blockages

MANY readers have told of towpath blockages that to them seem unnecessary.

But the one at Market Drayton on the Shropshire Union is amongst the worse, with Brian D Jarrett writing:

In the middle of summer

Which lunatic in the asylum closed the moorings and towpath at Market Drayton in the middle of the summer to carry out 'non-emergency' towpath work?

These are confronting you where ever you try to walk!

It beggars belief, but only goes to show clearly, if we had any doubt, where their priority lie.
