Coronavirus closes Ouse bridge

OWING to reduced staffing levels as a result of the coronavirus, East Yorkshire Council are presently unable to operate Boothferry Bridge over the Ouse.

This remains in force 'until further notice', meaning until the coronavirus restrictions are lifted, Keith Gudgin reports.

Locks closed

On the Aire & Calder Beal Lock (4) is also closed, caused by the build-up of silt following recent flooding, though plans are in hand to dredge the silt.

Another closure, this time the Lee Navigation with the failure of Dobb's Weir Lock (6) that failed yesterday, Tuesday, with the navigation closed until further notice.
