Man in canal was murdered

THE police have revealed that a man discovered in a canal had been murdered.

The body of Darren Round was discovered in the Worcester & Birmingham Canal at Kings Norton on Saturday morning just  hours after leaving home in the area on Friday evening, Alan Tilbury reports.

Consistent with an assault

A post mortem examination had revealed injuries 'consistent with an assault' before being pushed into the canal.

The police are appealing to anyone in the area or on the towpath from last Friday at 7,30pm until the body was discovered at 8.40 Saturday morning.
