Body found after two years

THE family of a woman who went missing two years ago and later discovered drowned have paid tribute to her.

Marie Scott went missing from home just before Christmas in 2017, and her body was found in the Manchester Ship Canal in December 2019, Alan Tilbury reports.


The family of the 58 years old have spoken of their heartbreak over their tragic loss and have thanked all those who have offered them support for more than two years.

At the time of her disappearance police carried out searches of the waterways and woodlands, but to no avail.  then a human leg was discovered in the Irwell at Salford in November 2018, then body parts in the Manchester Ship Canal near Frodsham that were confirmed to be the remains of Marie.

Police maintain there are no suspicious circumstances and no one is believed to be involved in her disappearance.
