Cruise the Chesterfield Canal with Santa

IT IS possible to cruise with Santa Claus in any one of five locations on the Chesterfield Canal this Yuletide.

Every child will receive a present from the great man and every adult can have a mince pie and a drink—all this for only £7 per person.

Spread over 15 days

The Chesterfield Canal Trust is running these cruises on all of its four trip boats spread over 15 days.

John Varley will be doing Santa Special trips on every Saturday and Sunday from 23rd November to 22nd December and on Wednesday 18th, Thursday 19th, Friday 20th and Monday 23rd December. All leave from Tapton Lock on the Tesco Extra roundabout in Chesterfield, S41 7JB. For bookings, ring 01629 533020 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Madeline will be running Santa Special trips  from Staveley on every Saturday and Sunday from 7th to 22nd December and on Monday 23rd December. All leave from Hollingwood Hub on Works Road, S43 2PF.  For bookings, ring 01629 533020 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Seth Ellis  will be running Santa Special trips from Retford every Saturday and Sunday from 23rd November to 22nd December and on Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th December.  All leave from the Hop Pole on the A620, Welham Road, DN22 6UG.  For bookings, ring 07925 851569.

Hugh Henshall will be running from two locations.  On Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December it will be at the Lock Keeper pub in Worksop, S80 1TJ. On every Saturday and Sunday from 7th to 22nd December and on Monday 23rd December it will run from Shireoaks, S81 8LP.  For bookings, ring 0114 360 0460 and leave a message.

Last year, the Trust carried over 2,000 happy Santa fans, so you will need to book soon to avoid disappointment.
