Northwich plans its third festival

NORTHWICH is planning its third Summer Festival on the Weaver this year.

Being on a river it allows both raft and dragon boat racing, that has become a favourite of spectators to the event, that will take place on the week-end of the 13th and 14th of July.

The dragon racing in particular is very entertaining with a colouful team and drummer to each boat, with the race taking place on the Saturday. This will be followed on the Sunday by the raft race.

During the week-end there will also be stand-up paddleboarders. The Wirral Community Narrowboat Trust giving trips on the river over the two days in its boat Over the Rainbow.

The river events ends with the public geting its chance with the release of the plastic ducks for the duck race.

On land

On land the attractions will include children’s rides, emergency service displays, a market and food stalls. Entertainment will be provided by the Pedal Players Street Theatre and Liverpool Pirate Brethren.
