A MAGNET 'fisher' has hauled out a motorbike from the Trent in Newark.

George Tindale discovered the bike whilst he was magnet fishing with his friends by the river, Alan Tilbury reports.

Neodymium magnets

This form of 'fishing' is trawling the bottom of canals and rivers with a strong neodymium magnet, and has taken hold over the past year.

The black motorbike was pulled out of the Trent with the young man reporting his find to the police who quickly confirmed that it had been stolen and obviously discarded in the water.

Returned to its owner

The police have confirmed that the bike has been returned to its owner, who admits that being six months in the river, it will need some TLC to get it working again.
