Two repaired—another broken on L&L

THE two broken swing bridges on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal have been repaired but another is out of action!

It would seem that with swing bridge after swing bridge breaking on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal the whole lot could do with completely replacing, but alas, no money after the million or so on Canal & River Trust re-branding.

Though both Crabtree and Niffany swing bridges are now back in action, another, Warehouse Swing Bridge was out of action, but is due to open again today, Wednesday, Keith Gudgin tells.

Tiffany Swing Bridge is particularly prone to breaking down, three times already this year.  It must be obvious even to the most unenlightened, that the old swing bridges on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal have passed their 'use-by' date, and need replacing.
