Can't tell the difference

AS UNBELIEVABLE as it may seem, there are those at Canal & River Trust who cannot tell the difference between a swing and lift bridge!

We are all aware of the strange stoppage notices we get from the Trust these days, but the latest telling that Winkwell Swing Bridge cannot be operated and will be left in the down position is one of its best.

Swings not lifts

The swing bridge was put out of action yesterday, Wednesday, after a vehicle damaged its barrier, with the stoppage notice that it will be left in the down position, with our Keith Gudgin pointing out to those at the Trust that Winkwell swing bridge does not have an up and down it just swings sideways!
