RCR is top 100 Apprenticeship Employer

THE very well  known boaters' breakdown and emergency assistance firm, River Canal Rescue (RCR), has been named a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer in the annual list compiled by the National Apprenticeship Service.

The firm was recognised for its high standards of excellence in employing apprentices — who account for nearly 60% of its 33 strong workforce — at the National Apprenticeship Awards final on 20th January at London's Grosvenor House Hotel.

Named Medium Employer of the Year

RCR was put forward for inclusion on England's Top 100 list—joining organisations such as BAE, Travis Perkins, Mercedes, ARUP, Centrica and Sellafield—after being named the Medium Employer of the Year 2016 at the North West National Apprenticeship Awards in October.

All top 100 employers feature in a Government-backed public relations campaign and the list was published in a Sunday Telegraph supplement soon after the final. Managing Director, Stephanie Horton, (pictured) comments:

"To have our three years apprenticeship programme recognised and rewarded at a national level is a huge achievement for us. Without apprentices our business would never have been able to grow the way it has.
