Golf carts stop navigation

IT WOULD seem that there is a new trend of dumping golf carts—or whatever they call them—being dumped in bridge holes, succeeding in stopping navigation.

One was found in the bridge hole of Bridge 162b on the Grand Union Canal that was removed yesterday, Monday, but there is another at Hunton Bridge 162, that has halted the navigation until it can be removed, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Stopping boats

Both of the carts were stolen and simply dumped in the water under the bridges, with the obvious intention of stopping boats from passing.

The Trust was unable to remove the one at Bridge 162 but is working to have it removed some time today.
