10,000th passenger for trip boat

A TOTAL of 10,000 passengers have now cruised on Bedford's community boat, John Bunyan during its service.

Cruising the River Great Ouse at Bedford, the John Bunyan has now carried over 10,000 passengers, many of whom were tourists or visitors to Bedford.

Party of school teachers

Passenger number 10,000 was amongst a party of school teachers who joined a John Bunyan cruise designed to show teachers how the boat could be used for educational trips. The boat can accommodate two classes of up to 30 children with six school support staff plus the boat crew.

The organisers offer special prices for schools, education and youth groups. It can be also be chartered by local groups and for private functions and there are also public day trips.
