New towpath hazard

WITH the improved weather and longer days now with us it seems the local ‘Yoof' have found a new way to entertain themselves, writes Orph Mable.

Across the towpath

Yesterday evening, I observed three teenagers stringing nylon fishing line across the towpath between the sides of a footbridge. It was at an ideal height to inflict serious injury to a child on a small bike or unseat an adult on a full size bike.

Great fun!

Needless to say I went and removed it immediately before anything could happen. Be warned and take care!
