Worse at Stenson

IT IS now even worse attempting to lock through the broad Stenson Lock on the Trent & Mersey Canal.

 

There is now only one paddle working on the bottom gates, with the one nearest the café having now failed, Pam Pickett tells us.

Great problems

This is the lock where neither of the bottom gates swing back fully, causing great problems with longer boats being unable to exit.

It seems that boaters are boycotting the lock, for we are told that from 1.30pm to 6pm on Sunday afternoon, only six boats used it, with the majority being hire boats.
