What a lot of sense John Howard speaks. Whilst it is assumed that home mooring means a marina berth, many home moorings may be a farmers field with no facilities, and with difficult access, so a honeypot mooring can be tempting to an over-stayer.

(Not a million miles from us at Wolverhampton is a site with many declared moorers who if all decided to return at once, would stretch from there to their chosen visitor mooring.)

But apart from that, if I choose to leave my mooring at Wolverhampton Boat Club on a Friday night to spend a couple days at say, Wheaton Aston, if I can find a space, then spend one weekend, then another, with a break in between, I potentially would incur the wrath of enforcement officers, although the situation suggests that they are not as active round here as in other parts of the country.
