LIFE saving equipment has been stolen from the Severn Area Rescue Association base in Kidderminster.

No only did thieves steal vital rescue equipment but caused thousands of pounds worth of damage in the process, putting the base and its rescue facilities out of action, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Supports emergency services

The team based in Kidderminster supports emergency services in the West Midlands in operations such as flood rescues or land searches, and were very much involved in rescuing people from this year's floods on both the Severn and Avon.

There was wanton damaged to two Land Rovers and a boat that were all put out of action, with fuel and other specialist equipment being stolen.
