More flood damage coming to light

WITH the floods now subsiding more resulting flood damage is coming to light.

This time it is the Kennet & Avon Canal that is affected, Keith Gudgin reports.

Offside wall

The offside internal wall of Widmead Lock (89) at Thatcham has sustained damage in the flood.

This means this will have to be repaired, but work cannot be undertaken until the river level drops sufficiently for access.

The lock will not be able to be used until this has been completed.
