Another lock beam breaks

YOU would think that the massive lock beams on the waterways would be impossible to fail, but yet another has broken off and closed a canal.

This time it is the Rushall Canal, with Rushall Lock 2 losing its beam, so is closed until it can be repaired, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Closed today

It is closed today, Thursday, until further notice, but it is expected that like the others it will remain closed until another beam can either be made or sourced and then fitted.
