Email: Awkward situations

I have every sympathy with any boater towing a butty, or other boat. I have met many, sometimes in awkward situations and have done some towing myself.

Apart from not giving misleading sound signals as reported earlier. I think that the towing craft have to meet us half way and indicate that they are towing, something that is not always obvious.

An amber flashing light is widely known as a warning sign and I would be prepared to respect that. There are, obviously, many other acceptable ways of doing this. If they want help in their plight then they have to ask for it, not on the internet, but on the canal. Do your bit and I will happily do mine.
