CaRT should explain sound signals

THE point Chris Pink raises regarding sound signals, is a very valid point and shows just how much boaters (including seasoned boaters) actually know about cruising, and the rules, writes Peter Ponting.

Having witnessed the decline in discipline of other boaters, as is continuously mentioned on narrowboatworld, would it not be a simple answer for CaRT to send out a copy of the boaters handbook every year to everybody who renews their boat licence.

Improvement on current mailing

Surely this will be an improvement on the current mailing we receive when renewing our licenses, from Canal & River Trust.

Receiving a Boaters Handbook annually might encourage people who own boats, to actually read it, thus reducing the problems we see today of inconsiderate boaters.
