Visitor moorings on Nene

VISITOR moorings have now been completed at Orton Lock at Peterborough on the Nene.

The Environment Agency in conjunction with Peterborough City Council undertook the work to provide the 48 hours visitor mooring, Alan Tilbury reveals.

Five months

The five months project also included the installation of a new lock landing stages in addition to restoring damaged piles.

The involvement of the city council is an attempt to encourage more boaters to visit the city, with the moorings being near its centre.
