Further delay for Long Horse Bridge

BRITISH Waterways have just informed us there will be a further delay before the new Long Horse Bridge is lifted into position over the Trent at Derwent Mouth.

Communication Manager Stephen Hardy, in thanking us for keeping our readers informed, added:

"Unfortunately, due to some issues during the welding stage, the bridge needs another coat of paint so the bridge lift won't be taking place on 23rd August as previously thought.

It had already been delayed from the week beginning  15th August. so it now seems that it won't be taking place until after 5th September
