More volunteers wanted

IT SEEMS everyone is seeking volunteers, with now the Kennet & Avon Canal Trust appealing for volunteers to help crew and maintain its narrowboat, Kenavon Venture.

Based at Devizes Wharf, it is used by the Trust to take people on trips on the canal, but is short of people to operate, with Alan Smith, Volunteer Boat Manager, explaining:

"The boat has carried out a programme of public trips as well as charters, and though we have a core of 30 qualified people, we could do with another 20."

A meeting was arrange to recruit interested people to help maintain the Trust's service.
