In danger of neglect and decay

ENGLISH Heritage is embarking on a project to find out how much of the country's industrial heritage is in danger of neglect, decay, and to raise the debate about what needs saving and how.

With the canals particularly mentioned, boaters and those interested in the waterways have the chance to give their opinions of what  is in such danger of neglect and decay.

Need a helping hand

English Heritage states 'you can include canal-side restorations....or those structures that you feel need a helping hand and a new lease of life to bring them back to their former glory'.

It goes on to include that 'as the arteries that fuelled the Industrial Revolution, the nation's 200 years old canals are some of our most valuable icons of that era'.
