THE Police have reported that five boats have been ransacked at their moorings on the Bridgewater Canal at Lymm.

Damage was caused to the boats that were broken into with many items stolen including electrical equipment and jewellery, Alan Tilbury reveals.

Padlocked

All the boats were padlocked, and a tool was used to rip the lock away to gain access to the boats that happened over the past few weeks, the boats being unattended.

However, an 18 years old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and released on bail pending further inquiries.
