THIS SITE WAS NOT AMONGST those effected by the national security vulnerabilities affecting many hundreds of websites last week.
Slight slowing down
The only effect that it had on narrowboatworld was a slight slowing down of the internet the following day, that was quickly rectified by our server, as back to normal later in the day.
This still allowed us to publish as normal whilst other sites were compromised.
The Canal & River Trust's website was offline during the Wednesday of the strike however, with our being told that the majority of its website is now back online and operating normally.
We have been told other waterways sites have been effected and were offline, but not checked.
Lost no data
Though others lost data, we lost no data, with our last update showing 17,659 in the web address of the last update.
This meaning 17, 659 articles are still available on the 'search' facility. (Less a couple of hundred that have been deleted for one reason or another.)
