Fence to stop students falling in

ANOTHER waterway has had a fence to stop people falling into the water and drowning.

This time it is in Leeds on the Aire & Calder where Matthew Wilcox, a Leeds University student drowned in the early hours of 5th March, and had been missing for a week before his body was discovered.

Same location

Two years ago another student, Gavin Terry, also drowned in the same location.

Both occurrences were in the early hours, and both students had been drinking  after a night out.

There are concerns that others could meet the same fate, so the authorities demanded the waterway be fenced off, with now calls for even more  fencing  to stop people falling in after nights out.
