Boat fire is suspected arson
A COUPLE who have lost their boat through what is believed an arson attack feel like moving away.
Their cabin cruiser was moored outside their house on the old course of the Nene in March when it was torched, Janet Friend reports.
Tony and Patsy Gosling, believe the boat, that was purchased for £5,000 four years ago, then a new engine at £1,000 was deliberately set on fire, but alas was not insured for fire.
Boy arrested
After the fire a 15 years old boy was arrested on suspicion of arson but subsequently released but not charged.
The pair now face £1,000 to have the remains of the burnt-out cabin cruiser removed from the navigation.
Tony Gosling had been worried about several incidents of anti-social behaviour along the river leading up to the fire, that included wheely bins being set on fire and then the boat fire.
