Lock gate tail bridge broken off closes 'Narrow'

THE TAIL bridge of a gate on Lock 32E on the Huddersfield Narrow has broken off.

This closure is of course for health and safety reasons, Keith Gudgin reports.

Scrambling over gate

This is to prevent boaters scrambling over the gate and causing injury to themselves, so the lock will remain closed until it is either fixed or a new gate bridge installed on this lock at Milnsbridge.

We are informed that this gate bridge cannot be replace at this time.
