Leaking culvert closes Mon & Brec

A LEAKING culvert has closed the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal.

The waterway is now closed between Chilson Bridge 146 and Castle Bridge 152, Keith Gudgin reports.

It will now be drained so as to undertake the necessary repair, with, we are told, engineers now on site to undertake the repair as soon as possible.

The Rochdale

The Rochdale Canal will be closed at Lock 19 at Todmorden on Friday and Saturday the 6th and 7th of December for maintenance.

This is to replace paddles and needs the pound to be lowered to properly seat the frames, with the work expected to be completed during the day and the pound left to refill overnight.
