A leak on the Huddersfield Narrow

Published: Wednesday, 26 June 2024

Although no information has been given there is a leak on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal.

That was 'controlled' by a plastic sheet, Keith Gudgin reports.

Re-positioned

A plastic sheet is in the process of being re-positioned over the leak that is between Rough Holme Lock 12E and Ramsden Lock 13E on the aqueduct.

This is in an attempt to stop the water leaking through the aqueduct.

It has been discovered to be in the wrong position as the sheet is in the process of being lifted from the bottom of the canal and re-positioned over the leak.

Until this is achieved the pound is unavigable.

The 'Narrow' isn't doing too well at the moment...!
