Subsidence closes Rochdale

SUBSIDENCE on the Rochdale Canal has caused its closure.

It is currently closed between locks Alfred Street (65) and Coal Pit (80) due to subsidence, Keith Gudgin reports.

Investigations

It is closed to allow engineers to carry out investigations into the subsidence that has occurred at Tannersfield Middle Lock (67).

The Rochdale has had a poor time over the past months with it being closed for a month on 30th August then again on the 21st September then yet again for seven weeks on the 30th October.

The current investigation will take place today, Friday, and over the weekend.
