Body in the Paddington Arm

THE body of a woman has been pulled from the Grand Union Canal.

The woman was discovered in the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal at Southall in West London on Saturday, Alan Tilbury reports.

Cordoned off

Being near a busy street, the body was easily seen by shoppers, with the emergency services being alerted.

Nearby streets were cordoned off as the police and ambulance personnel arrived at the scene, though the canal was not.

Police are investigating the death which is being treated as unexplained by the Metropolitan Police.
