More electrics flooded on the Weaver

IT WOULD seem the electrical component housings on the Weaver need some attention.

Following on the failure of its boat lift through flood water soaking its electrics the Winnington Swing Bridge on the river has suffered the same fate, Keith Gudgin reports.

Winnington Swing BridgeClosed to larger vessels

Though the Weaver has reopened after its flood, it is closed to larger vessels with the  flood water having soaked the electrics causing them to fail to operate the bridge to allow their passage.

The damaged components need to be removed and replaced by a specialist company, so the bridge will be unable to be operated in the meantime.

Does not affect narrowboats

This time it does not affect narrowboats that can easily pass under the bridge without it having to be operated.
