THE HURLESTON FLIGHT on the LLangollen Canal is now open for navigation.
The closure was due to the lack of water after the Whitchurch breach, Keith Gudgin reports.
This meant the pound to the flight lost its water down the breach in late December leaving boats stranded on the bottom of the waterway.
Back to navigation
It has taken all this time time to get the water level back to navigation as water had to be diverted to Hurleston Reservoir that was used as drinking water for a large area.
But there was still a problem on the canal yesterday, Wednesday, with parts of it frozen, with the trust offering the advice to proceed with caution.
