BWML Advantages scheme closes

Published: Wednesday, 08 March 2017

THE plan was to have a website where British Waterways Marinas Ltd (BWML) customers could log on and obtain goods and services at a price advantage.

Named BWML Advantages, and launched in 2014 'for a trial three years period' it has proved unsuccessful, and today, Head of Retail, Rod Grant, has announced that this is to be shut down at the end of this month, with not enough moorers taking up the offers, though we are told it attracted 1,200 customers.

All manner of things

The scheme was run in conjunction with The Personal Group, offering discounts on all manner of things including such as televisions and white goods, shopping, travel, dining and even reductions at Marks & Spencer and Argus.

But there was very little take-up amongst customers we are told, so it has been decided to close the scheme.

'Advantage' pack

The scheme started with BWML customers receiving an 'Advantage' pack, giving details of all its benefits to moorers and listing the wide range of services offered. New moorers  to the various marinas received the pack with their introduction information.

Those customers who have derived benefit from BWML Advantages can continue to use the service until the end of March, then it will close, with a closure notice appearing on the site, and Rod Grant reflects:

"I apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers by this decision, if you have any questions or comments please contact us via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.."
