Norbury Festival cancelled

THE Shrewsbury & Newport Canals Trust have had to cancel the 2017 Norbury Canal Festival.

This is because it has proved impossible to organise suitable visitor parking this year. After being advised that the field used last year was not available, considerable efforts were made by the organising team to find alternative parking but without success.

Not the end

However, this is not the end of the festival as the Trust have identified a solution that it will be able to put in place for 2018, but alas this will not be possible this year, as the field in question is committed to agricultural use for the period when it would be needed.

The festival was planned for the week-end of the 30th April and the 1st May. Everyone who had already booked, including all boaters and stallholders, has been advised of the situation.
