White Mills open

IT WAS the Marina Manager, Chris Dixon, who was the first person to berth his boat in the newly opened White Mills Marina on the Nene at Earls Barton.

It was certainly the ‘bees knees'—the name of his boat—last Friday (20th November), when he became the first boater to cruise his narrowboat into the riverside marina and take up his berth.

A clearly delighted, Chris enthused:

"To be able to sail into a brand new marina is a once in a lifetime opportunity and it certainly was a very special moment. I am now looking forward to welcoming boating enthusiasts to White Mills and establishing it as a first-class facility for boaters along the Nene."

With 141 berths all of which are secured to floating pontoons, White Mills Marina can accommodate narrowboats, wide beams and cruisers and we are told it offers all the essential services that boaters expect from a brand new modern marina.
