It's blocked again!

THE Elsan at Braunston Stop House on the Grand Union Canal is blocked and out of action yet again.

It was just two weeks ago that it was out of action through being blocked, but before then the facility was out of action for ten weeks with Canal & River Trust sourcing parts for its repair.

Reason

No reason has ever been given as to what causes the failures—which of course would be either mechanical failure or simple blockage, but is causing problems for boaters.

Perhaps the system needs replacing with something more able to handle what it is designed for.

The facilities still in service are at Napton, Buckby and Hillmorton.
