Email: Causing concern

Just read your news this morning about the murder of a boy on the Leeds & Liverpool towpath, which is really shocking, happening to a 16 years old and must be causing concern at Canal & River Trust who are championing the towpaths as a peaceful haven, or something like that.

Having read numerous times of attacks on towpaths and people being thrown in—there was a report last week—it seems the isolated canals are ideal for such occurrences, and I know of a no-go area where women dare not go alone, night or day.

It must all really be causing concern as it is doing little to show the safety of towpaths. I know I'm very careful where I moor my boat and 'sit tight' during hours of darkness, for you never know...
