Temporary Caen Hill opening

OWING to the build-up of boats wanting to pass through Caen Hill Flight on the Kennet & Avon Canal, there is to be a temporary opening.

 

The flight is closed as work is still underway on the flight after part of its towpath and bank was washed away, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Staff and volunteers

The flight will be open tomorrow, Thursday 19th, with staff and volunteers on hand to assist, after which it will be closed again to allow the repairs to continue.

This is to allow boats to travel through Seend Flight before its winter stoppage on the 23rd November  until March.
