Severn conquered

THE Severn has at last been conquered by a swimmer, who swam its entire 220 miles length, starting at its source and ending at Severn Beach.

The 32 years old, Kevin Brady, took a month to swim the river, and it is reported that he is sad that it is all over, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Dangerous currents

He tackled the dangerous currents of the tidal section of the river, passed dead animals and suffered bouts of 'river belly'.

His family and friends supported him all the way, seeing him each day, but now he is sad it is all over, but at least he can boast he has swum the Severn—its entire length.
