Four hurt in boat explosion

A BOAT explosion early on Wednesday morning caused four people to be burnt and needing hospital treatment with one of them having to be urgently airlifted to hospital.

It was a cruiser moored by the Angel Inn at Stourport-on-Severn, with the four crew reported as being 'in a bad way', Mick Fitzgibbons tells us.

Alerted the public

The explosion alerted the public, with the emergency services being called and quickly attending, however the boat was not burnt-out, though flames from the explosion caused the burns.

The others suffered burns to faces and arms, and all were taken by ambulance to Worcester Royal Hospital for treatment.
