Festival this week-end

A FESTIVAL is scheduled on the Calder & Hebble Navigation this week-end, at Brighouse, in the form of a Canal, Beer and Music Festival.

Organised by the Brighouse Business Initiative, a group of town centre traders, there will be free boat trips, canal crafts and canoeing lessons, together with live music from three stages, Alan Tilbury tells us.

80 food and craft stalls

The Festival will also combine a summer food and craft market with more than 80 stalls throughout the town centre.

For the steam enthusiasts the Festival is also including static steam engines, with a steam train running down a town street. For the car enthusiasts the Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club will be exhibiting classic cars on both days.

The event, that will take place tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday, runs until 10pm on the first day and to 4pm on the Sunday.
