Sheer greed

Ken Keegan from the Environment Agency calls £38.00 for a one day licence 'Excellent value for money...' (You get a free day), writes Keith Gudgin.

It's the equivalent of a Canal & River Trust Licence costing nearly £14,000 per year. Not what I would call value for money.

Try bringing it down to around a fiver per day, that's what I would call good value for money. It would still be the equivalent of nearly £2,000 p/a. and they might just get a few more boaters taking them up on it.

Sheer greed is what I call it.
