Two Stratford towpath attacks

IT WOULD seem the towpath of the Stratford Canal is an unsafe place to walk, as there have been two attacks in one day.

An early morning attack left a man with no alternative but to jump into the Stratford Canal in the town to escape two men, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Walking under bridge

The man was walking under a bridge over the canal in Stratford when the two attacked him in the early morning, and fearing for his life he leaped into the waterway to escape them. He was unable to describe the men as they so quickly came at him, but noticed they drove away in a Nissan Primera.

He suffered head injuries and was treated at hospital.

Woman attacked

During late evening a woman was attacked and left with head injuries by it is believed the same two, as she too noticed them leaving a Nissan Primera, but this time noticing the colour was grey.

She also noticed that one was  a white man and another a man of mixed race.
