Discarded?

YOU really have to wonder at the phrasing of Stoppage Notices these days from Canal & River Trust.

It tells us that a car has been 'discarded' in the Leeds & Liverpool Canal on the Leigh Branch with the navigation now closed.

Dumped

Does it mean that someone has had enough of it and thought the canal the best place to dump it, or has it come off the road and finished up in the waterway?

Whatever, we are further told 'The contract team has been instructed to complete removal works'.
