No Kelpie centre this season

THOUGH an extended visitor centre was planned for this coming season at the Kelpies attraction at the Falkirk Wheel, this will not now happen.

With extra cash being available, Falkirk Council's have agreed to extend the facilities at the attraction, which means it will not now be open until October—after the season ends, Alan Tilbury tells us.

More space

The Kelpie Centre at Helix park has been awarded a further £160,000 to extend its facilities that will give it more retail space as well as better staff facilities, with construction work having already been begun.

The Kelpies are the two horses heads that are the centrepiece of the attraction, as pictured. A spokesman for the council told that 'rescheduling the opening of the building to after the peak tourist season would allow staff to resolve any early issues'.
